COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's cross country team signed Ariel Lyles to a NAIA scholarship, the school announced on Tuesday.
Lyles, a Bowling Green, Ky., native, will join the Blue Raiders in the 2009-10 season.
"Ariel is going to be an excellent addition to our program and to Lindsey Wilson College," Lindsey Wilson coach Edwin Hagans said. "She will be able to compete for both the cross country team and the track and field team.
Lyles finished 44th at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Cross Country meet. She helped lead the team to a seventh place finish last season.
The Bowling Green High product hopes to compete in track and field as well as cross country. Lyles personal best is 19:30 in the 5k.
