ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- The Lindsey Wilson College volleyball team was defeated in two matches on Saturday at the Lindenwood (Mo.) University Invitational.

The Blue Raiders drop to 3-17 on the season with the losses.
 

In the Blue Raiders' first match Saturday, they were swept 3-0 (20-25, 5-25, 23-25) by the 20th ranked host Lions (18-6).

Lindsey Wilson freshman Ashlie Haworth led the team in kills with 11, while also registering 10 digs and a service ace. Sophomore Rachael Anderson was the leader in digs with 13 and senior Sarah Kline dished out 20 assists.

The Blue Raiders were topped 3-1 (23-25, 25-23, 21-25, 22-25) in a close match with Baker (Kan.) University (24-2) in the final contest of the invitational.

Junior Racheal Achieng led the Blue Raider attack with 13 kills, followed by Haworth in double digits with 12. Kline completed another strong passing match with 33 assists, while also collecting 12 digs. Junior Sydney Harvey turned in the only Lindsey Wilson blocks of the day with two against Baker.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at home against sixth ranked Mid-South Conference-foe Georgetown (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center.
