COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team was voted one spot shy of a top-five ranking at No. 6 in the Preseason NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released by the national office on Friday.

The Blue Raiders received 335 points after finishing first in four out of five events during the fall season.

Oklahoma City University tops the preseason poll with 401 points and 11 first-place votes, while California Baptist University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Fla.) share the No. 2 spot with 387 points each.

Lindsey Wilson won team titles in the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament, Lindsey Wilson Fall Invitational, University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Invitational and Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University Fall Invitational during the fall portion of its schedule.

Three individuals also won titles for the Blue Raiders as junior Chelsey Key paced the LWC Fall Invite, senior Krista Burton won the Cumberlands Invite and Jessica Smith beat the MSC Fall Tournament field.

The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, independents and unaffiliated groups. The first regular season rating will be announced on Feb. 26.
