COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College will host six home football games in 2010.

In addition to a Sept. 4 season-opener against Notre Dame (Ohio) College, the Blue Raiders will play home games against Southern Virginia University on Sept. 11, Pikeville (Ky.) College on Oct. 9, Union (Ky.) College on Oct. 16, West Virginia University Tech on Oct. 30 and Georgetown (Ky.) College on Nov. 6. Homecoming will be celebrated at the Oct. 30 game.

The home games will be played at a new outdoor sports stadium, located on Exit 49 of the Louie B. Nunn Cumberland Parkway. Lindsey Wilson is resurrecting its football program after a 75-year hiatus.

"We are kicking off our program with a very exciting and challenging schedule," Lindsey Wilson football coach Chris Oliver said. "We are fortunate to have six home games as we open up our new stadium, which will be one of the nicest facilities in the NAIA."

Season-ticket sales will be announced later this spring.

To complete the 11-game schedule, Lindsey Wilson's away games include: Belhaven (Miss.) University, Campbellsville (Ky.) University, Cumberland (Tenn.) University, Kentucky Christian University and University of Virginia's College at Wise.

The Blue Raiders will complete in the Mid-South Conference East Division with Campbellsville, Georgetown, Pikeville, Kentucky Christian, UVa.-Wise and West Virginia Tech. Belhaven, Cumberland, Union, University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), Bethel (Tenn.) University, Shorter (Ga.) College and Faulkner (Ala.) University compete in the Mid-South Conference West Division.

"We have quality non-conference opponents and the Mid-South Conference is always competitive, from top to bottom," Oliver said. "We play in an outstanding conference, and we look forward to our first season in the MSC."

All games are scheduled to kick off at 1:30 p.m. local time. The entire schedule will be broadcasted on WAIN-AM/FM, and home games will be televised on DuoCounty Channel 2.
