COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team is ranked No. 12 in the NAIA Men's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, the national office announced on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders received 215 points in the poll.

The Blue Raiders finished last season with an 11-5 record after losing to California Baptist University 5-0 in the second round of the NAIA National Championships.

Lindsey Wilson won the Mid-South Conference Regular and Tournament Championship in 2009 behind the stellar play of Freddy Luciani who returns to lead the team this season.

Luciani earned NAIA Second Team All-American honors last season after finishing the season with an 11-1 singles record and, along with senior Eddie Khan, recorded a 12-4 doubles mark while helping the Blue Raiders reach the NAIA second round.

The All-American honor was the second in Luciani's career.

Defending national champion Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University captured the top spot in the rankings with 341 points and 10 first-place votes.

Auburn-Montgomery (Ala.) University, last year's runner-up, was second in the poll, followed by Concordia (Calif.) University rounding out the top three.

Lindsey Wilson opens its season at Noon CT on Feb. 21 against Shorter (Ga.) College at the Lindsey Wilson College tennis courts.
