COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Barren County High School's Kaley Dunbar signed with the Lindsey Wilson College women's cross country team for the 2010 season, Blue Raider coach Edwin Hagans announced on Monday.

Dunbar has ran with the Barren County team since the 7th grade and has qualified for the state meet all six years. The Glasgow, Ky., native is a two-time All-State Honorable Mention selection and top-five finisher in the region, making her an All-Second Region team selection in all six seasons.

The welcoming feel of Lindsey Wilson has Dunbar excited to get started as a collegiate athlete.

"Lindsey Wilson is quiet and welcoming, unlike most of the other schools I've been to," explained Dunbar. "The campus really feels like home and it's convenient how close everything is together."

Dunbar plans on majoring in elementary education to prepare for a career teaching younger students.

For now, Dunbar has her eyes set on getting to campus and becoming the best athlete she can be.

"I'm looking forward to getting to Lindsey Wilson and starting the training process," said Dunbar. "Starting to post faster times right away is my first goal for the upcoming season."
