COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team dropped its home finale with a 4-0 loss to West Virginia University Tech on Saturday at Egnew Park.

Game two of the scheduled doubleheader was rained out with the Blue Raiders leading 2-0 in the third inning. Lindsey Wilson concludes its regular season with a 30-23 mark, including a 12-15 Mid-South Conference record.

West Virginia Tech (14-34, 6-20 MSC) scored three runs in the third thanks in large part to four Lindsey Wilson errors.

The runs were all Tech pitcher Jeff Krauklis would need as he hurled a five-hit shutout. Krauklis struck out seven Lindsey Wilson batters en route to the win.

Lindsey Wilson threatened a number of times in the game, leaving nine runners stranded for the game. But Krauklis turned the Lindsey Wilson batters away each time.

Senior pitcher Max Rhodes was the hard-luck loser allowing just one earned run in his complete-game effort. Rhodes struck out four while scattering eight hits.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Friday, April 30, in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. The Blue Raiders will travel to either St. Catharine (Ky.) College or Georgetown (Ky.) for the first of a three game series next weekend. The official tournament bracket will be released either on Monday or Tuesday by the MSC.
