COLUMBIA, Ky. -- After securing the program's first Mid-South Conference Regular Season Championship over the weekend, the Lindsey Wilson College softball team looks to add an MSC Tournament Championship to its resume starting at 4 p.m. CT on Thursday against West Virginia Tech at Millennium Park in Danville, Ky.

The MSC Tournament was originally scheduled to start on Friday, but expected storms in the Danville area have forced the conference to push the games ahead a day early.

Three opening round games are slated for Thursday with the final quarterfinal game of the double-elimination tournament on Friday morning.

Lindsey Wilson faces a West Virginia Tech team in the opening round that they have beat four times without a loss this season. In the four games combined, the Blue Raiders have outscored the Golden Bears 19-0, but have had games as close as 1-0 and as far apart as 11-0.

The Blue Raiders have won their past two games, but hold a 3-3 record in games played on a neutral field. Lindsey Wilson is 41-12 overall including a 22-6 mark in MSC play.

Lindsey Wilson has two losses against third-seeded Campbellsville (Ky.) University and second-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) College, while also taking a loss against the No. 6 seed St. Catharine (Ky.) College.

With a win on Thursday, the Blue Raiders will play again at noon on Friday against the winner of No. 4 seed University of Rio Grande (Ohio) and No. 5 seed University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). A Lindsey Wilson loss puts them in the 10 a.m. game on Friday against the loser of the same two teams.

The MSC Tournament is in double-elimination format with the championship game scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday or at 1 p.m. if necessary. The winner of the tournament earns the conference's automatic bid into the NAIA National Championship on May 20-26 in Decatur, Ala.
