DANVILLE, Ky. -- Ashley McCool was named coach of the year and Anyibell Ramirez was named pitcher of the year by the Mid-South Conference at Millennium Park in conjunction with the MSC Tournament.

Apart from the two major awards, Lindsey Wilson placed four student-athletes on the all-conference team.

Ramirez was dominant inside the circle this season, leading the MSC in ERA (0.84), strikeouts (315) and opponent's batting average (.123). She tied for the conference lead with 21 wins and she's third with two saves this season.

The 19-woman all-conference team was voted on by the MSC coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Joining Ramirez on the all-conference team from Lindsey Wilson is Morgan Paschall, Ally Goniea and Jamie Williams.

McCool was voted on by her peers as the MSC Coach of the Year after leading the Blue Raiders to the program's first MSC regular season title.

Lindsey Wilson's Kelly McCarty and Georgetown's Kendall Lawson were named the MSC Softball Champions of Character recipients. The pair earned the award -- as voted on by the conference athletics director -- for their civic and servant leadership within the campus and community.

Two Blue Raiders -- Alexis Rodgers and Jordan Gilland -- earned honorable mention all-conference honors.

Six Lindsey Wilson student-athletes were recognized as Academic All Mid-South Conference. The distinction is reserved for student-athletes with a sophomore or higher class ranking and a 3.25 and above grade point average.

Those Blue Raiders honored for their work in the classroom were Caren Alexander, Emillee Bush, Ally Goniea, Alicia Mayfield, Kelly McCarty and Anyibell Ramirez.
