MOBILE, Ala. -- Trina Slapeka and Jessica Weyreuter accounted for three points with a pair of singles victories and an 8-4 doubles win to help the Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team beat Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University 6-3 in the first round of the NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship on Tuesday at the Mobile Tennis Center.

Slapeka and Weyreuter earned their win at No. 1 doubles against Erica Engelbrecht and Taylor Stephens, while the second-seeded pair of Slavica Milanovic and Agnieszka Wojtowicz earned another point for the Blue Raiders with a 8-1 win against Claudia Voicu and Ashlan Allison.

Lindsey Wilson entered singles play leading 2-1 as Marina Pacifico and Lindsey Sheene dropped the No. 3 doubles match to Olivet Nazarene's Alicia Cullen and Caitlyn Dodge.

Needing three more points to seal the match, Lindsey Wilson got just that from its top-three singles entries.

Slapeka was dominant in the top slot, beating Voicu 6-1, 6-1, while Weyreuter had a tougher time against Englebrecht, but still won in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.

Milanovic wrapped up the decisive fifth win with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Cullen. Pacifico also finished her match against Allison, giving the Blue Raiders a sixth win with the 6-1, 6-3 decision.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 9 a.m. CT on Wednesday, May 19 against Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) University in the second round of the NAIA National Championship at the Mobile Tennis Center.
