COLUMBIA, Ky. -- BMX specialist Brittany Bates signed a scholarship with the Lindsey Wilson College cycling team, Blue Raider Coach David Grigsby announced on Thursday.

Bates, a native of Tacoma, Wash., is a six-time state champion in BMX. Bates has been ranked as high as second in the nation in her age group from 2002 to 2005 and has been ranked in the top 10 of the professional rankings since 2006.

Grigsby is excited to have Bates continue her successful cycling career at Lindsey Wilson.

"Brittany is a life-long competitor who has travelled the world racing BMX," Grigsby said. "Brittany races in the professional ranks and has been seen on the Versus Network competing for National Points. She will race gravity and BMX for us at Lindsey Wilson. We are happy to have Brittany and look forward to her successes as a Blue Raider."
