COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College -- the top-ranked team in the NAIA -- is the preseason men's soccer favorite according to the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

The defending national-champion Blue Raiders received 64 voting points and eight first-place votes after also claiming the MSC Regular Season and Tournament Championships in 2009. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team.

University of Rio Grande (Ohio) is projected to finish second according to the poll after receiving 27 points, including the final first-place vote. University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) is predicted third with 50 voting points.

Campbellsville (Ky.) University, Georgetown (Ky.) College and West Virginia University Tech all tied for fourth in the balloting with 36 points. Conference newcomer Shawnee State (Ohio) University and St. Catharine (Ky.) College are tied for seventh in the poll with 17 points each.

Pikeville (Ky.) College -- which received 11 points -- rounds out the preseason poll.

The 2010 MSC Men's Soccer Tournament's semifinals and finals are scheduled for Nov. 11-12 at Rio Grande, Ohio with the first rounds taking place at various campus sites.

Lindsey Wilson started off the season with a 1-0 win at home against Saint Xavier (Ill.) University on Saturday and returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday, Aug. 28 at Pikeville.
