The Lafayette, Ga., sophomore opened the week with an 8-0 major decision over Campbellsville University's Josh Ashbrook -- who is ranked sixth at 174 pounds. Stephens scored four of the team's 16 points in a 28-16 loss to the No. 4-ranked Tigers.

During the Missouri Valley Invitational, Stephens won three matches, including two against ranked opponents, to claim the 174-pound title.

Stephens dominated the finals beating Indiana Tech's Tanner Martin -- ranked 12th individually -- 16-1.
