Blue Raiders travel to UVa.-Wise on Thursday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team is No. 25 in the latest NAIA Division I Women's Basketball Coaches' Top-25 Poll, released on Monday by NAIA officials.

The Blue Raiders slipped five spots following last week's two losses but remained ranked for the 18th straight rating period at No. 25. Lindsey Wilson received 64 voting points from the national raters.

University of the Cumberlands, Shawnee State University, Georgetown College and Campbellsville University join Lindsey Wilson as Mid-South Conference teams ranked.

The MSC leads all conferences with the five ranked teams in the poll followed by the Southern States Athletic Conference with four members in the Top-25. This week's poll marks the fifth straight that five teams from the MSC enjoy a national ranking.

Freed-Hardeman University (18-2) is No. 1 for the second straight week with 312 voting points and all 12 first-place votes. Oklahoma City University (17-1) is second with 301 voting points and Union University (19-2) is third with 293 voting points.

The poll is voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each conference, the independents and unaffiliated groups. The next poll is scheduled to be announced on Mon., January 30.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 26 as the Blue Raiders travel to UVa.-Wise in Wise, Va. Lindsey Wilson travels to Pikeville on Saturday.
