Blue Raiders go for season sweep today

PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's basketball teams complete their Mid-South Conference road swing today at University of Pikeville.

The Blue Raiders -- who will have played four straight on the road following today's games -- go for the season sweep in both men's and women's basketball after winning in Columbia in December.

Tip-off for the women's game is at 1 p.m. CT with the men's game to follow. Both games can be heard on 1270 WAIN-AM and at http://www.ihigh.com/lindseywilson/ beginning at 12:40 p.m. CT with the women's pregame show.

In the women's game, No. 25 Lindsey Wilson (15-7, 4-5 in the MSC) faces a Bear team in search of its first conference win of the season. The Blue Raiders hope to climb back to .500 in the conference with a win at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center.

Lindsey Wilson has won five straight in the series and 15 of the last 16 against the Bears (4-17, 0-9). The Blue Raiders won 75-60 in Columbia on Dec. 3.

Tip-off is at 1 p.m. CT.

In the men's game, No. 8-ranked Lindsey Wilson hopes to rebound from Thursday's disappointing 58-81 loss at UVa.-Wise. The 51 points was a season-low for the Blue Raiders who had won five straight games before the setback.

No. 23-ranked and defending national champions Pikeville (13-7, 5-4) is looking to avenge a 76-73 loss to Lindsey Wilson (15-5, 7-2) and climb within one game of the MSC co-leaders in the standings.

Lindsey Wilson leads the all-time series with the Bears 33-21, but Pikeville leads the series at home 13-12.

Tip-off is at approximately 3 p.m. CT.
