COLUMBIA, Ky. – For the second-straight week, Jovana Ivanovic is the Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.
Ivanovic recorded a pair of shutouts against two nationally-ranked teams in a pair of draws last week for the Blue Raiders.
The sophomore from Belgrade, Serbia anchored a Lindsey Wilson defense that did not give up a shot on goal in a 0-0 tie with No. 16-ranked Baker (Kan.) to open the week.
Ivanovic closed the week on Saturday with seven saves against No. 1-ranked and defending national champions Northwestern (Ohio) in another scoreless draw.
She extended her scoreless streak to just over 331 minutes, including three-straight shutouts.
Ivanovic is tied for first in the Mid-South with a 0.77 goals against average and is third in the conference with 28 saves on the season.
No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson is 1-1-3 on the season following last week's ties.
This is Ivanovic's second weekly honor of the season and second of her career.
